Memorandum of cooperation

We are happy to announce a historical moment on the history of cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania. On the 15th of April 2014, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ditmir Bushati confirmed that ‘Today it is finalizing of the work and cooperation initiated by the MFA in November 2013, to have a planed and  jointly implemented work on promoting the business opportunities that Albania offers as well as supporting the foreign investors already in Albania. British Chamber takes part at the Western Balkan Forum in London

On the 24th of February 2014, the Prime Minister of Albania Mr. Edi Rama and the Prime Ministers of Kosovo, FRY Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia participated at the Western Balkans forum organized by EBRD in London. The British Chamber participated together with members of the Chamber interested on the prospect of Albania and the region. The Prime Ministers were welcomed at a special meeting with the Foreign Minister of UK, Mr. William Hogue on the 24th. The President of the Chamber Mr. Hoxha participated too. The British Chamber of Commerce and Industry has joined oppinion with other Chambers in Albania on the fact that the 2014 forecast budget will bring about various set of changes which will not have a positive effect on the Albanian economy. The group of representatives from AmCahm, Tirana Cahmebr, German, Austiran and Greece have provided a detailed analyses of the reasons why this budget cause more damage to the economy rather than improvements to the business environment. One of the elements which we strongly support and that should not be changed it is the flat tax.

Meeting with the General Director of Customs of Albania

The British Chamber of Commerce and Industry met the General Director of Customs of Albania Miss. Elisa Spiropali at the Headquarters in Tirana on 19.11.2013. The team of the British Chamber lead by Mr. Hoxha the President wished to the General Director success at her work and confirmed the support of the Chamber for the improvement of the business environment in Albania. The aim of the meeting was to officially confirm to the view of the members of the British Chamber on the importance of the cooperation between the Customs and the companies to insure fair trade as well as safety of consumers. The British Chamber of Commerce in Albania it was happy to support the Meeting at the House of Lords at the British Parliament on the 25th February 2014 which was made possible due to the work of the Its President of Honor of the Chamber in UK, Mr John Grogan and the hospitality of Rt. Hon. Lord Dubs.
