The British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Albania is proud to announce the signing of the contract with UNDP on
Youth Employment and Migration
And become the first Private Public Partner of UN in Albania on youth employment
The proposed programme, to be jointly implemented by ILO, IOM, UNDP/UNV and UNICEF, will enhance decent work opportunities for young people and migration management in Albania through better alignment of national strategies on youth, employment and migration. The programme is funded by the Government of Spain through the MDG Achievement Fund for Youth and Migration.
The programme aims to:
- strengthen the capacity of labour market institutions to integrate and implement national policies through a coherent youth employment action plan,
- devise strategies that minimize the risks of migration of youth from rural areas; and
- increase the positive impact of migration through better allocation of resources for youth employment.
The companies that will benefit from this program will be allocated an amount of $200 per worker for the three-month training period. An additional allowance of $90 per trainee per month will be transferred directly to the enterprises, during the 3-month training period, upon provision of evidence that the allowances have been paid to the trainees by the enterprise.
Wage subsidies will be paid directly to the employer amounting to $150 monthly for a period of two months, following the three month training period, Limiting the wage subsidies to two months will minimize the possibility of market distortion, while still serving the purpose of providing the employers with an added incentive to retain the workers. During this period, employers will be required to pay the social insurance obligations for each worker, and retain the worker for a period that is at least equal to the number of months to the number of months for which they received training and a wage subsidy and with the same salary, terms and conditions
