A seminar was held in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Medical University Tirana on the role of management in the delivery of health care. This was conducted by Dr Patrick Strong, a Director of the Chamber and a UK Management Consultant
The participants were PhD students in the university and numbered over 30
The nature of management was explored; the key tasks of managers identified and a range of issues relevant to medical management were explored. These included medical audit, care pathways and quality assurance issues
The session was well received and it is proposed continuing these in the future
